Note the rising angel / falling devil pattern. This is a 2-motif tessellation. You can make this type of tessellation using Dr. David's "gap method" tutorial, here on Tessellations.org. The pattern repeats without rotating; the angels and devils are simply shifted to a new place to make the repeating pattern. It is a "Translation" ("Slide") type of tessellation.
